Position Summary
Enterprise Group Planning is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting & Benefits Administration Analyst to own and manage the financial operations supporting employer-sponsored health benefit plans. This role is responsible for accounting oversight, cash and trust account management, stop-loss reimbursement tracking, and employer funding processes, and serves as a key financial partner to operations and executive leadership.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in health care or insurance financial operations, understands claims funding and trust accounting, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Own general ledger accounting and month-end close for administrative and plan-related accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable related to claims funding, vendors, and administrative fees.
- Perform and review bank reconciliations for operating and claims trust accounts.
- Ensure accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and internal controls.
Stop-Loss & Claims Funding Oversight
- Lead stop-loss claims tracking, reimbursement submissions and recovery reconciliations.
- Prepare and manage employer funding requests based on claims activity, cash requirements and reserve targets.
- Analyze claims trends and funding activity to support forecasting and funding accuracy.
Reporting, Analysis & Audit Support
- Produce financial and operational reports for management and employer clients.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews and compliance requirements, including ERISA trust accounting.
- Partner with internal compliance and operations teams to support financial governance.
Cross-Functional & Leadership Support
- Serve as a subject-matter resource for junior staff and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate closely with implementation, account management, underwriting and claims leadership to support operational needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial workflows, controls and reporting processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of accounting or financial operations experience.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial controls.
- Demonstrated experience with stop-loss insurance, claims funding processes and trust accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple employer clients and competing deadlines independently.
Preferred
- Prior experience in a health care, insurance, or third-party administrator (TPA) environment.
- Direct experience working with self-funded health plans.
- Experience interacting with employers, brokers, carriers and auditors.
