Position Summary
Enterprise Group Planning is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized ERISA Communications Specialist to support the preparation, maintenance, and distribution of compliant employee benefit plan documents and participant communications. This role plays a critical part in ensuring employer health plans are properly documented and that required ERISA communications are delivered accurately and on time.
This position is well suited for a benefits documentation professional who enjoys working in a structured, quality-driven environment and is interested in growing deeper expertise in ERISA compliance and health plan documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Plan Document Preparation
- · Draft, update and maintain health plan documents using The Phia Group’s compliant documentation tools.
- · Produce and manage:
- Master Plan Documents
- Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs)
- Summaries of Benefits and Coverage (SBCs)
- · Incorporate plan design changes, amendments and client-specific provisions into all documentation.
ERISA Notices & Participant Distributions
- Prepare and distribute required ERISA notices and participant communications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Track distribution timing, delivery methods and documentation to support audit and compliance needs.
Client & Member Communications
- · Draft clear, accurate and compliant written communications for employer clients and plan participants.
- · Coordinate electronic and printed document delivery in partnership with internal teams and vendors.
Quality Control & Internal Support
- Review all documentation for accuracy, consistency and completeness prior to release.
- Respond to internal questions related to plan documentation and participant communications.
- Support audits, compliance reviews and documentation requests as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 3–5 years of experience in employee benefits documentation, ERISA compliance, or health plan administration.
- Demonstrated experience drafting or maintaining SPDs, plan documents or participant notices.
- Strong written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple client deliverables and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience using The Phia Group documentation tools.
- Paralegal background or legal studies coursework.
- Prior experience with a third-party administrator, carrier, or employee benefits consulting firm.
