Position Summary
Enterprise Group Planning is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounting & Benefits Administration Analyst to support daily accounting, bookkeeping and benefits-related financial operations for employer-sponsored health plans. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting or finance professional to gain hands-on experience in health care, employee benefits, and third-party administration (TPA) operations.
The Junior Accounting & Benefits Administration Analyst will work closely with senior accounting and finance team members to support claims funding, reconciliations and financial reporting while building foundational knowledge of health plan financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Support
- Perform routine bookkeeping and general accounting support activities.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end close activities under the guidance of senior accounting staff.
Cash & Funding Support
- Assist with bank and cash account reconciliations for operating and claims-related accounts.
- Track medical claims funding activity for employer-sponsored health plans.
- Prepare supporting schedules for employer funding requests.
Stop-Loss & Benefits Finance Support
- Assist with stop-loss claims tracking and supporting documentation.
- Help maintain accurate records related to claims reimbursements and recoveries.
- Support senior analysts with benefits-related financial reporting and data requests.
Operational & Team Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information needed for reconciliations and reporting.
- Support internal audits, documentation requests, and compliance activities as assigned.
- Participate in process improvement and documentation initiatives within the finance and benefits administration team.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with accounting systems.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Interest in healthcare, insurance, or employee benefits administration.
Preferred
- Exposure to health care, insurance, or benefits administration environments.
- Experience supporting reconciliations or multi-account cash environments.
