Position Summary
Enterprise Group Planning is seeking an accomplished and highly driven Senior Sales & Marketing Manager – Employee Benefits (TPA) to lead regional growth across Ohio. This senior-level role is responsible for expanding EGP’s presence through broker and consultant development, employer group sales, and execution of targeted sales and marketing campaigns focused on self-funded and level-funded employer health plan administration.
The ideal candidate brings strong broker credibility, deep technical knowledge of stop-loss and employer funding strategies, and a consultative sales approach that positions EGP as a long-term strategic partner to employers and advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Broker, Agent & Consultant Development
- Identify, prospect, and onboard new brokers, agents, and consultants throughout Ohio.
- Develop and execute an active broker engagement strategy, including regular meetings, education sessions and pipeline reviews.
- Deliver broker training on EGP’s self-funded and level-funded solutions, stop-loss structures and overall value proposition.
- Build long-term, consultative broker relationships and position EGP as a strategic partner.
Employer Group Sales Execution
- Drive new employer group sales for self-funded and level-funded health plans.
- Lead employer and broker discovery meetings to assess plan design, funding and cost containment objectives.
- Develop and present customized solutions incorporating:
- Plan design alternatives
- Provider and network configurations
- PBM and managed care strategies
- Stop-loss structures and risk mitigation approaches
- Lead pricing discussions, negotiations and closing activities.
Quoting, Underwriting & RFP Management
- Coordinate employer group quoting with internal underwriting teams and external stop-loss carriers.
- Gather, validate, and manage census, claims and plan data to support accurate pricing.
- Lead end-to-end RFP responses, including narrative development, pricing exhibits and solution positioning.
- Ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, compliant and delivered on time.
Stop-Loss & Carrier Coordination
- Work directly with EGP’s underwriting team and stop-loss carrier partners.
- Lead negotiations of stop-loss terms, rates, and contract provisions.
- Educate brokers and employers on stop-loss mechanics, risk tolerance, and renewal strategies.
Sales Campaigns & Marketing Execution
- Design and execute targeted regional sales campaigns focused on defined employer segments and broker channels.
- Partner with marketing resources to develop and deploy sales tools, broker communications and thought-leadership content.
- Track campaign effectiveness, conversion rates and return on investment.
Pipeline, Forecasting & Market Intelligence
- Maintain an accurate and disciplined sales pipeline.
- Forecast new group installations and revenue by quarter and year.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends and market dynamics.
- Provide regular reporting, insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Internal Collaboration & Implementation Handoff
- Partner closely with implementation and account management teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new employer groups.
- Participate in kickoff and transition meetings as needed.
- Maintain strong broker and client relationships through implementation and early service and renewal cycles.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 7–10+ years of employee benefits sales experience, with a strong emphasis on TPA solutions.
- Demonstrated success selling self-funded and level-funded employer health plans.
- Deep understanding of stop-loss insurance, underwriting processes and employer risk structures.
- Established broker, agent and consultant relationships within the Ohio market.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation and executive-level presentation skills.
Highly Preferred
- Prior experience working directly for a third-party administrator.
- Experience leading or managing regional sales campaigns.
- Strong familiarity with Ohio employer and broker markets.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
